(Breeding Males)

TPeruvian Independance

1/4 Accoyo, Full Peruvian Beige

Huacaya Male, Proven
Birthdate: 7/4/2002
Heritage: Full Peruvian
ARI #: 842588
Color: Beige
Stud Fee: $1500

Independance exhibits the strong conformation of his sire and grandsire. His dense, uniform fiber is predominantly beige and is relatively free of guard hairs resulting in a very high comfort factor. His pigmentation is dark and his ears are gray, so we suspect that he has the potential to produce color. Indy has proven to be a very healthy alpaca with no skin problems or other issues.

Independance has been bred to one of our foundation girls and one of Maplewood Farm's foundation females, so we are waiting to see what he can do. But with Augusto in his background, we are expecting the best.

  • 4th Place 2003 AOBA National Alpaca Show
  • 3rd Place 2003 MLA Lamafest (shown with the white class and placed!)
  • 4th Place 2004 Michigan International Alpaca Fest (Level II Light Class)

Fiber Statistics: 2003: 21.4 AFD, 3.8 SD, 17.8% CV, 1.9% > 30 microns

Sire: Our Peruvian Catero

Light Fawn, 805897, Peruvian
Sired by Accoyo Augusto. He has size, great conformation, and 19 micron fleece that is dense and uniform. Catero was honored with a Reserve Championship at the AOBA National

Dam: PPPeruvian Tendu 5058

Beige, 139154, Full Peruvian
Tendu is a 1995 beige import from the Sollocottá Cooperative in Peru. We have no information on her sire and dam as is true with most imports. When she arrived at Maplewood Farm, Dr. Jim Vickers rated her a "#8", and she became part of MWF's foundation herd. In that time, she was bred to Augusto, Chaparral, and Bravado, and produced award winning crias. In July of 2002, Tendu became the first production female for Snow Dancer Ranch. She has proven to be a "hands off" delivery specialist, providing ample colostrum and milk for her young, and unconditional care in their early months.
